About GoldJaanch

Jaanch means check. GoldJaanch helps a buyer compare recent rate observations and estimate parts of an itemised bill before a large purchase.

Our three rules

  1. Show the origin of a rate. Source observations include the published date when available and our collection time. A calculated GoldJaanch reference rate links to its methodology.
  2. Separate facts from interpretation. We do not publish price forecasts or personal buy/sell recommendations.
  3. Keep an audit trail. Raw observations are retained; invalid observations can be excluded from public calculations with a reason recorded in the corrections log.

How the numbers work

Kalyan-anchored GoldJaanch reference rate: We first group publisher-dated eligible Indian 22K retail observations on the India collection day and retain values within 1% of their rough median. A headline needs at least three independent retained sources; one or two observations do not produce a new reference. Unknown-date sources remain visible for comparison but do not enter the headline. Kalyan Vijayawada replaces the median only when its observation is within 1%. IBJA, world spot, GRT and CMR are comparison rows, not headline inputs. 24K and 18K are purity conversions from 22K. BankBazaar and Policybazaar remain comparison rows until their purity/date labels are parser-verified.

24K and 18K headline values may be derived from the 22K reference using purity ratios; they are not necessarily separate shop observations. IBJA is displayed as a useful benchmark but is not represented as the retail shop price.

Each source is attempted on its configured schedule, but publishers update at different times and a collection attempt can fail. When that happens, the latest successful observation may remain visible with a stale or refresh-failed label.

Daily and weekly notes may be automatically drafted from captured inputs. They are not forecasts. Each note should be read with its timestamp because later source updates can change the day's final rate.
