Estimate a jewellery bill using the displayed GoldJaanch reference rate and the charges you enter. It is a checking aid; a seller's rate and itemised charges can differ.
The default 3.0% GST comes from verified registry rule IN_GST_JEWELLERY v1, effective 2017-07-01. It is applied to metal plus entered making charges. “Exclude GST” is a pre-tax view, not a statement that tax is not due. Official source.

Estimate limits: use net metal weight, excluding stones. This tool does not model stone prices, wastage/value-addition lines, fixed or per-gram making fees, hallmark fees, discounts, exchange deductions or shop-specific taxes. Ask for an itemised bill.
How this estimate is calculated
- Metal value = displayed reference rate × net metal weight. Pavan is 8 g; tola is approximated as 11.66 g.
- Making charge = the percentage you enter × metal value. Sellers can instead use per-gram, fixed, wastage or value-addition charges, which this tool does not model.
- The selected GST percentage is applied to metal value plus the entered making charge.
- The quote comparison shows a percentage difference from this limited estimate; it does not decide whether a price is fair.
Budget mode reverses the same limited formula to estimate grams. Resale and exchange policies vary by seller; ask what weight, deductions and charges its written policy recognises.
